The NH State Board of Education meets on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 9 a.m. Unless posted otherwise, meetings take place at the NH Department of Education building (Londergan Hall), 101 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH.

OPEN NH Online Professional Development Sessions for 2009

University of New Hampshire Teacher Workshops - UNH Professional Development & Training offers over 250 one-day seminars and short Certificate Programs each semester that are designed to provide you with new or advanced career and professional skills.


Institute on Disability (IOD) at UNH

The IOD offers many events and workshops related to the lives of persons with disabilities and their families. For further information please visit their Web site at www.iod.unh.edu/events.html.


 

The New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS) offers a variety of professional development opportunities for middle level professionals. NELMS events align to the standards for high quality professional development advocated by the National Staff Development Council. Individual state standards for the six states are also considered in structuring our professional offerings. NELMS can also come to your school. The Greater Manchester Professional Development Center (GMPD) provides high quality training opportunities that will empower teachers and show a positive correlation to student achievement. The programs they have developed for The Greater Manchester Professional Development Center will provide opportunities to improve instruction through a high quality professional development program with a focus on improving student performance. The Seacoast Professional Development Center is one of six regional training centers established by the State of New Hampshire’s Department of Education to deliver technology based professional development to teachers and staff throughout New Hampshire. SUPPORTING STUDENT COURSE PLANNING TEAM TRAINING – MANUFACTURING

The purposed of this training is to match the Career Technical Instructors at Secondary and Postsecondary in a career area to design a plan of study to assist students in understanding the courses they need to take in high school to best prepare for college. Dual credit options for students will also be identified and expanded. Key participants include (but not limited to) high school guidance counselors, secondary and postsecondary instructors.

"Seasons of the Year," the 2nd Annual Arts in Early Learning Conference

Saturday, November 21

Heritage Commons, Plymouth State University

Librarians, early-childhood educators and administrators, care providers, parents, and artists are invited to attend this hands-on gathering, presented by the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire and VSA arts of New Hampshire as part of their ongoing collaboration, in partnership with the Plymouth State Early Childhood Studies Program.

The conference includes arts activities in all four disciplines -- music, theater, movement, and visual arts -- for school, community and home settings designed to strengthen pre-literacy and literacy skills and enrich learning experiences for children 2-7. Cyberbullying Workshops

The Office of Safe & Drug-Free Schools and the NH Department of Education is sponsoring a free series of Cyberbullying Workshops in collaboration with the NH Attorney General's office and the NH Department of Safety. Workshops will take place:
