Under a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the New Hampshire Department of Education HIV/STI/Teen Pregnancy/Health Program has focused it's efforts on strengthening school health programs. We provide professional development activities and technical assistance for:

  • The New Hampshire Health Education Curriculum Guidelines , aligning health education to national standards including authentic, performance-based assessment;
  • The use of effective evidence-based HIV prevention education curriculum;
  • HIV policy development;
  • Involvement of parents, students, and community members in  HIV prevention education; and
  • Efforts targeted for high-risk youth.

We also conduct the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) and in alternate years the School Health Profile (SHP), and we make this data available for use in program development.
