Achieve's Comparison of the American Diploma Project English Benchmarks with GSEs
The NECAP Reading and Writing GLEs have been developed as a means to identify the reading and writing content knowledge and skills expected of all students of reading in Grades 3-8 and of writing in Grades 5 and 8. Reviewed in this report are the draft Rhode Island High School GSEs for Grades 9-10 and Grades 11-12, which have been developed for public review and comment. GLEs and GSEs are intended to capture the "big ideas" of reading, writing, and speaking that can be assessed without narrowing the curriculum locally.
***Although this report is based on GSEs from Rhode Island, the alignment to New Hampshire GSEs is sufficient
since this document includes the NECAP GSEs used by all states involved in the NECAP collaboration.***
